4. College of Electrical and Information Engineering

Founded in 1985, College of Electrical and Information Engineering (CEIE) now has 4 undergraduate programs including Electrical Engineering and Automation, Automation, Internet of Things Engineering, and Data Science and Big Data Technology; and 2 tertiary vocational education programs of Electrical Automation Technology and Computer Application Technology. CEIE currently has 50 full-time educators, including 5 professors, 18 associate professors and senior engineers. Among them 16 teachers have doctoral degrees, 1 recipient of the “151 Talents Project” of Zhejiang Province, 10 recipients of the “115 Talents Project” of Quzhou. 1 recipient of the “Excellent Counselors in Universities and Colleges” of Zhejiang Province, 1 recipient of the “Outstanding Cadre of the Communist Youth League”, and 1 recipient of the “Promising Young Educators” of Zhejiang Province.

In recent years, CEIE has constructed 2 Excellent College Courses at the provincial level, conducted 3 Key Textbook Construction Projects at the provincial level, 6 Education Reform Projects at the provincial level, 3 Education Reform Projects on Classroom Instruction at the provincial level, 2 projects of virtual simulation experiments at the provincial level, 3 Provincial First-level Courses and has edited or helped edit 18 national key textbooks. The Electrical Automation Technology Core Curriculum Teaching Team won the title of Provincial Key Teaching Team. CEIE’s Student Affairs Office and the Department of Automation were honored as “San Yu Ren”, a title awarded to advanced education group.

In recent years, CEIE has undertaken more than 140 scientific research projects at all levels, including 3 projects of national funding, 5 projects of provincial funding, 8 projects supported by Zhejiang Provincial Department of Science and Technology, 85 projects at the Municipal level, and 17 enterprise-funded latitudinal research projects; CEIE has published more than 290 articles (including the first-level core journals and 72 papers collected by SCI, EI and ISTP); 80 national authorized patents, 23 provincial and municipal prizes of various types, and its Discipline of Control Science and Engineering is a project of the First-level Discipline Construction at the provincial level, “Inspection Technology and Automation Device” is a Provincial Key Discipline. The “Electrical Equipment and Intelligent Control Technology Innovation Team” is the municipal key innovation team. In cooperation with enterprises, it successfully transforms into “Power Transmission and Distribution Equipment Technology Innovation Service Platform of Quzhou, Zhejiang Province”.

CEIE has 4 experimental sub-centers, including Electrical and Electronics Center, Electrical Engineering Center, Automation Center, and the Center of Internet of Things. The total value of teaching equipment is over 1,790,000 yuan, and the total area of the labs is 2,100 square meters. The Electrical and Electronic Technology Training Base is a demonstration training base construction site at the provincial level with more than 50 off-campus practice bases.
